About Leliora
Leliora is a grassroots nonprofit founded by Gabriela and her family, dedicated to making a difference in mental health, postpartum support, and suicide prevention. Inspired by the Latin word ‘Meliora,’ meaning ‘better things,’ we believe in the power of community-driven change.

Nearly 1 in 8 women in the U.S. experience postpartum depression, with rates varying widely by state and individual circumstances. Many women do not receive the care they need, which impacts not just their own health, but their families and communities as well.
1 in 5 adults in the U.S. faces a mental health condition each year, and the pandemic has only increased these numbers, with anxiety and depression affecting nearly 41% of adults in 2020.
Suicide rates have risen dramatically, becoming the 12th leading cause of death in the U.S., with over 48,000 deaths annually. Young people and middle-aged men are particularly at risk, with alarming increases in suicide attempts and mental health struggles.

Founded in 2024, Leliora CDC is a grassroots nonprofit inspired by a deeply personal journey. Our co-founder, Gabriela, has undergone multiple life-saving surgeries, facing both the physical and emotional challenges that come with them. Her resilience has shaped Leliora’s mission: to support mental health, postpartum depression, and suicide prevention. Though we are just getting started, our vision is clear—helping others navigate the battles Gabriela knows all too well.
